Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time by contacting vishal@camvi.online, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. Withdrawing consent may limit or disable certain features of the Platform.
6. Camera Footage, Video Data & AI Detections
6.1 Ownership & Processing
You (the customer) retain ownership of all camera footage, incident clips, and metadata generated through your use of the Platform. Camvi processes this footage solely as a service provider, to run AI inference and deliver detections, alerts, and reports to you.
6.2 Your Obligations
Because you control what the cameras see, you are responsible for:
- Displaying CCTV notices/signage where required by law
- Obtaining any consents needed from employees, customers, or visitors under applicable law
- Not pointing cameras at private spaces (washrooms, changing rooms) without lawful basis
- Honouring data-subject access, correction, and deletion requests relating to individuals captured on your footage
6.3 Facial Recognition & Biometric Data
Camvi's core detection models identify events, objects, and behaviours (e.g. theft indicators, PPE compliance, fire/smoke) — not the identity of individuals. We do not perform facial-recognition-based identification by default, and will not enable such features in jurisdictions where prohibited without your explicit written instruction and lawful basis.
6.4 Retention
Footage and incident clips are retained on the Platform only for the period configured by you or required by law, after which they are deleted or overwritten in accordance with Section 9.
7. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
We use essential cookies (e.g. to remember your theme preference and keep you signed in) and analytics cookies (to understand how the Platform is used, so we can improve it). We do not use cookies to sell your data to advertisers.Cookie Policy.
Full details of the cookies we use, their purpose, and how to manage or disable them are set out in our
8. Data Sharing & Disclosure to Third Parties
We share personal data only with service providers who process it on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations, and only to the extent necessary to provide the Platform. Categories of such sub-processors include:
- Cloud infrastructure and database hosting providers
- Authentication and account-management providers
- AI/ML inference providers used to run computer-vision models
- Transactional email and WhatsApp/notification delivery providers
- Product analytics providers (used in aggregate/anonymised form where possible)
- Payment and billing processors
8.1 Other Disclosures

- With your explicit consent, for any other purpose you authorise
We do not sell personal data or camera footage to data brokers or advertisers.
9. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain personal data for as long as necessary to provide the Platform, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
- Account data — retained while your account is active, and for a reasonable period after closure for legal/accounting purposes
- Camera footage & incident clips — retained per the retention window you configure, or as required by applicable law, whichever is longer
- Contact-form submissions — retained until the inquiry is resolved and for a reasonable period thereafter
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting vishal@camvi.online, subject to any legal retention requirements.
10. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organisational security safeguards to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest where supported by our infrastructure providers
- Access controls limiting who within Camvi can access customer data and footage
- Regular review of our infrastructure and third-party sub-processors
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If we become aware of a personal data breach that is likely to affect you, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required under the DPDP Act.
11. Data Residency & International Transfers
By default, Camvi processes AI inference and stores incident metadata in India (Mumbai-region infrastructure). Enterprise customers may opt for fully on-premises deployment, in which case no footage or inference leaves the customer's own network.
Where any of our sub-processors store or process data outside India, we take steps to ensure such transfers are subject to contractual safeguards consistent with the DPDP Act and applicable rules.
12. Your Rights Under the DPDP Act, 2023
As a Data Principal under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:

- Correction & updating — request correction, completion, or updating of inaccurate or outdated personal data
- Erasure — request deletion of personal data that is no longer necessary for the purpose it was collected
- Grievance redressal — file a complaint about how we handle your personal data (see Section 14)

13. Children's Privacy
The Platform is intended for business use by individuals who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children. Where camera footage incidentally captures minors on a customer's premises, that footage is handled under Section 6 and the customer's own obligations as data fiduciary/controller for that footage. If you believe a child's personal data has been provided to us directly, contact vishal@camvi.online and we will take steps to delete it.
14. Grievance Redressal & Grievance Officer

15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, provide additional notice via email or an in-app notification.
